Each year, the festival recruits approximately forty volunteers to assist the teams in organizing tasks related to the reception of festival goers, artists, media, VIPs, but also on more specific items related to logistic, sanitation, sound and light management.
This form of partnership promotes the discovery and exchange of different cultures: since 2005, the Festival in the Desert hosted volunteers from Europe, the United States, Australia, Thailand, New Caledonia, Canada, Brazil ...
The work starts a few days before the festival and it ends the day after the last day. Volunteering implies availability over a period of about a week. In return for this valuable assistance, the festival ensures full board during the working period: accommodation and food.
Each volunteer has to go to Oursi on its own, but the organization can help you book a mode of transport.
The Festival au Désert involves difficult working conditions: a good adaptability and ease to take initiatives are recommended. Even though, this experience remains for most of those who lived it, a unique experience.
